Essential oils have been used for hundreds of years for all kinds of reasons. Not only can they help us to look more beautiful, they can improve our overall health and even be used for cleaning! They have an abundance of uses. Here, we’re going to focus on using them for our health. Enjoy!

Boost Your Immune System

If you want to fend off colds or get rid of one you already have, all you need is a mixture of essential oils proven to boost your immune system. Mix 4 drops of peppermint, 3 drops of onguard, 2 drops of oregano, and 1 drop of frankincense. It’s up to you how you take it: either dilute with some water and then shot it, or rub it on the soles of your feet. I find it usually works better taken internally. Your immune system will get a kick and become strong enough to fend off colds and viruses that try to attack.

Stay Moisturized

Tea tree essential oil can moisturize in plenty of different ways, either mixed with your regular moisturizer or with a carrier oil. Use it on your hair, scalp, lips, face, and other dry areas to really get them smooth and soft!

Grow Your Lashes

By putting 1 or 2 drops of lavender essential oil in your tube of mascara, you can do multiple things. You’ll usually find that your mascara lasts longer, and that your lashes appear more voluminous. It promotes lash growth in general too, so you’ll have a fabulous flutter!

Whiten Your Teeth

By simply adding 1 drop of wintergreen essential oil to your toothpaste, you can enhance the whitening properties.

Cure Insomnia

There are a few oils said to be good for insomnia; Lavender and Chamomile to name a few. You could pop a few drops on your pillow or pulse points for the scent to soothe you and help you drop off to sleep. This is a great idea when used in conjunction with other techniques.

Get Rid of Acne

Dabbing a few drops of tea tree oil on your affected areas can reduce redness and inflammation. You might soon find that your acne has disappeared!

Make Scars Disappear

Scarring can lower self esteem, but certain essential oils can help to reduce the appearance of scars. Lavender oil, frankincense, and helichrysum oil are good for scarring. Simply mix 6 drops each with vitamin E oil and coconut oil. Smooth onto scars regularly to notice a big difference!

Minimize Wrinkles

Essential oils can even minimize the look of wrinkles. Just a few oils that are beneficial for the skin include carrot seed essential oil, frankincense and ylang ylang. They have properties that encourage the skin to regenerate and smooth fine lines. Mix a couple of drops in your regular face cream or use them with a carrier oil to get the best results. Be consistent and your wrinkled should reduce.
